Dr. Besher Alfarra
DMD & Owner of Kemptville Smiles
Hello. I am Dr.A! Let me tell you a few things about myself. I have been practicing dentistry since 2005. I graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science in 2000. I then obtained my DMD (Doctor in Dental Medicine) from the University of Montreal. Right after graduation, I decided to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program in Rochester, New York at the University of Rochester. That program helped me refine a wide range of clinical skills including surgical, restorative and pediatric Dentistry.
I continuously take the most updated education courses in orthodontics, dental implants and general dentistry. I am a certified Invisalign and Laser Dentist. I can also provide oral sedation to anxious patients. I am a member of the Ottawa Dental Society, Ontario Dental Association and The royal college of dental surgeons of Ontario.
In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my wife Shaza and my little boy Zade. I really enjoy watching and playing soccer and Tennis whenever I have the time! I lived 11 years in Montreal so I am a big habs fan! I wouldn't shy away from a challenge, that's why I ran Spartan Races and Mud Heros races. So far, I have finished the Sprint and Super, and I plan to finish The Beast race as well.
My favorite part of my job is spending time with my patients, and getting to know them. It's always an honor every time a new patient choose to come to my practice. My goal is to provide top notch dental care in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where my patients feel listened to and cared. I understand the fear of coming to the dentist, I can relate to that myself especially when I was a kid. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than helping my patients get rid of their pain or simply giving them a smile they always wanted. I look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you achieve your oral health goals.
ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM
Reagan Arcand
CDA II / Office Manager
Reagan is a certified level 2 dental assistant and also our office manager. Reagan graduated with honors from Everest and was the recipient of an award from the Ottawa Dental Society.
Reagan is the friendly voice on the phone when you call with a question or to make an appointment, and she is the first face you see when you arrive in the office. Reagan coordinates all daily activity, enabling our doctor, assistants, and hygienists to concentrate on what they do best: delivering exceptional dental care to every patient. She has developed a strong and lasting relationship with many of our patients. Her professionalism and passion for patient care exemplifies what Kemptville Smiles Dentistry is all about.
Reagan loves using her vast knowledge of dentistry and dental insurance plans to ensure patients feel as comfortable and informed as possible. Reagan lives in Kemptville with her husband and their four children, their cat and dog. She enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Reagan has been with Kemptville Smiles Dentistry since it opened its doors for business in 2013 and looks forward to welcoming all patients with professionalism and genuine caring to help even the most anxious people feel at ease.
Holly Babcock
Administration Assistant
Holly joined our team in September 2020. She has over 20 years' experience working in the home health care and customer service industry. Holly is one of the friendly voices you hear when calling the clinic to book an appointment and a kind face you see when greeting you as you enter the clinic. The dental field is a new and welcomed challenge for Holly and she looks forward to making your experience with us the best one possible!
Holly and her husband have 2 children and a cat. In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and baking. Her favourite sport is soccer.
Shawna Walker
Administration Assistant
Shawna has worked as an administrative assistant at Kemptville Smiles Dentistry since July 2022. Shawna comes to us with over 15 years experience in customer service.
Shawna has always had a passion for helping people feel comfortable and heard, whatever the situation may be. Having recently moved to Kemptville with her family, Shawna is happy to be in a more rural setting, allowing her to get back to her roots. When she is not at work, she can be found at the hockey rink, or by the gymnastics mat, cheering on her favorite athletes.
Shawna is one of the first friendly faces you see as you walk into the clinic, and often the one to answer the phone to assist your needs. she strives to make every visit an enjoyable one, with warm smiles and lots of laughs.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, kids, and dog, cooking, baking, and travelling.

Megan Heron
CDA II
Megan graduated from Algonquin College with honors from the Dental Assisting program in 2017. Prior to finding her passion in dental, Megan grew up in Kemptville. She graduated from St. Michael's Catholic High School and has seen Kemptville grow to the town it is today.
When not in the office, Megan and her supportive husband have their hands full with three young boys, two dogs and two cats. She enjoys spending time outside with her boys four wheeling, getting messy and taking on many DIY projects.
Sarah
Dental Assistant
Sarah graduated from Algonquin College from the Dental Assisting program in 2018.
She is originally from the Ottawa Valley but has lived in the area for three years. Her and her Husband have a five year old daughter. Her hobbies include fishing, camping and antique shopping.
HYGIENE TEAM
Michaela
Registered Dental Hygienist
Michaela is an Algonquin College graduate in dental hygiene who has worked in the community for 6 years. She is in good standing with The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, and is a member of the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association.
Michaela is passionate about providing individual focus to every patient, understanding their specific needs, and her work is gentle, time efficient, and precise. Michaela is comfortable treating patients of all ages- from infancy to adulthood, and is eager to make sure patients are as comfortable and informed as possible.
Michaela lives in Merrickville with her husband. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, traveling, and loves a good book. She has 4 cats and a dog, and loves all animals so make sure to tell her about your furry friends at home!
Michaela has called Kemptville Smiles Dentistry home for 5 years now, and looks forward to offering her clients exceptional dental care for many years to come!
Kerry Cook
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kerry is a 2003 Algonquin College graduate in Dental Hygiene. She moved to Kemptville at the end of 2015, and has worked in the community for 3 years. She is in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygienist's Association.
Kerry has many years' experience working with anxious patients and is great with kids making their first dental visits fun. Her work is gentle and precise, and she is always making sure her patients are as comfortable as possible.
Kerry and her husband have two young kids. As a family they enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, walking their dog, swimming and are often found at the soccer field and baseball field with their children. Kerry enjoys baking and cake decorating.
Kerry has been at Kemptville Smiles Dentistry for 2 years now and hopes to continue to provide high quality care to our patients.
Seryna Forsyth
Registered Dental Hygienist
Seryna joined our team at Kemptville smiles in March 2022. She’s been in the dental field since 2016, working for a short time as a dental assistant. Not long after, she decided to continue her education and became a registered dental hygienist. Seryna graduated from the dental hygiene program at Algonquin college in 2019.
Seryna grew up in the Ottawa area, but moved out to the area last year. Her favourite thing about being a dental hygienist is making every patient feel happy about their oral health, and ensuring they’re comfortable and at ease during their cleanings. Shes known for being gentle, calming, and time efficient. She’s very passionate about educating patients, and focuses on patients individual needs.
When she’s not working, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, whether that’s fishing, four wheeling or just soaking up the sun.
