Dr. Besher Alfarra
DMD & Owner of Kemptville Smiles Dentistry
Hello. I am Dr.A! Let me tell you a few things about myself. I have been practicing dentistry since 2005. I graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science in 2000. I then obtained my DMD (Doctor in Dental Medicine) from the University of Montreal. Right after graduation, I decided to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program in Rochester, New York at the University of Rochester. That program helped me refine a wide range of clinical skills including surgical, restorative and pediatric Dentistry.
I continuously take the most updated education courses in orthodontics, dental implants and general dentistry. I am a certified Invisalign and Laser Dentist. I can also provide oral sedation to anxious patients. I am a member of the Ottawa Dental Society, Ontario Dental Association and The royal college of dental surgeons of Ontario.
In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my wife Shaza and my little boy Zade. I really enjoy watching and playing soccer and Tennis whenever I have the time! I lived 11 years in Montreal so I am a big habs fan! I wouldn't shy away from a challenge, that's why I ran Spartan Races and Mud Heros races. So far, I have finished the Sprint and Super, and I plan to finish The Beast race as well.
My favorite part of my job is spending time with my patients, and getting to know them. It's always an honor every time a new patient choose to come to my practice. My goal is to provide top notch dental care in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where my patients feel listened to and cared. I understand the fear of coming to the dentist, I can relate to that myself especially when I was a kid. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than helping my patients get rid of their pain or simply giving them a smile they always wanted. I look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you achieve your oral health goals.
Dr. Cristina Atasiei, DDS
Associate Dentist
Dr. Cristina Atasiei graduated with honors from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 2002, where she obtained her DDS degree. She ranked first in her graduating class.
Dr. Cristina Atasiei also graduated with honors from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Medicine and Pharmacology, Bucharest, Romania, in 1994.
While maintaining a high standard of ethics and professionalism, she has an excellent rapport with patients and always makes certain they receive the most comfortable care possible.
Dr. Atasiei enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She also loves making flower arrangements and taking walks in the nature.
Dr. Atasiei is a member of RCDSO, ODA, ODS and OWDSC.
ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM
Reagan Arcand
CDA II & Office Manager
Reagan is a certified level 2 dental assistant and also our office manager. Reagan graduated with honors from Everest and was the recipient of an award from the Ottawa Dental Society.
Reagan is the friendly voice on the phone when you call with a question or to make an appointment, and she is the first face you see when you arrive in the office. Reagan coordinates all daily activity, enabling our doctor, assistants, and hygienists to concentrate on what they do best: delivering exceptional dental care to every patient. She has developed a strong and lasting relationship with many of our patients. Her professionalism and passion for patient care exemplifies what Kemptville Smiles Dentistry is all about.
Reagan loves using her vast knowledge of dentistry and dental insurance plans to ensure patients feel as comfortable and informed as possible. Reagan lives in Kemptville with her husband and their four children, their cat and dog. She enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Reagan has been with Kemptville Smiles Dentistry since it opened its doors for business in 2013 and looks forward to welcoming all patients with professionalism and genuine caring to help even the most anxious people feel at ease.
Holly
Administration Assistant
Holly joined our team in September 2020. She has over 20 years' experience working in the home health care and customer service industry. Holly is one of the friendly voices you hear when calling the clinic to book an appointment and a kind face you see when greeting you as you enter the clinic. Holly looks forward to making your experience with us the best one possible!
Holly and her husband have 2 children, 2 cats and a dog. In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and baking. Her favourite sport is soccer.
Shawna
Administration Assistant
Shawna has worked as an administrative assistant at Kemptville Smiles Dentistry since July 2022. Shawna comes to us with over 15 years experience in customer service.
Shawna has always had a passion for helping people feel comfortable and heard, whatever the situation may be. Having recently moved to Kemptville with her family, Shawna is happy to be in a more rural setting, allowing her to get back to her roots. When she is not at work, she can be found at the hockey rink, or by the gymnastics mat, cheering on her favorite athletes.
Shawna is one of the first friendly faces you see as you walk into the clinic, and often the one to answer the phone to assist your needs. she strives to make every visit an enjoyable one, with warm smiles and lots of laughs.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, kids, and dog, cooking, baking, and travelling.

Megan
CDA II
Megan graduated from Algonquin College with honors from the Dental Assisting program in 2017, and joined the Kemptville Smiles Team shortly after. Prior to finding her passion in dental, Megan grew up in Kemptville. She graduated from St. Michael's Catholic High School and has seen Kemptville grow to the town it is today.
When not in the office, Megan and her supportive husband have their hands full with four young boys, two dogs and two cats. She enjoys spending time outside with her boys four wheeling, getting messy and taking on many DIY projects.
Sarah
CDA II
Sarah graduated from Algonquin College from the Dental Assisting program in 2018 and has been with Kemptville Smiles Dentistry since July 2022.
Sarah is originally from the Ottawa Valley but has lived in the area for 4 years. Sarah and her husband have a 6 year old daughter. Her hobbies include fishing, camping, travelling and giving back to the community, especially the Food Bank.
Lia
CDA II
Lia entered the Dental Assisting program at Algonquin College after graduating from St. Michaels High School in 2022. Shortly after graduating, she joined us here in July 2023!
Lia grew up in Inkerman on her familyβs farm. Being raised on a farm, she has a gentle and empathetic manner. Farming with her father has taught her to never shy away from hard work and new challenges. Lia has ridden horses competitively since she was young. She would love to chat about animals and see pictures of your pets!
Liaβs interest in dental piqued at a young age. She joined a family friend at work for Take Your Kid to Work Day in grade 9 and has been intrigued in the dental world ever since! Always being excited to visit the dentist, her goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome!
Lia grew up in a dessert loving family and loves to bake! In her spare time, Lia also enjoys riding her horses, going to the movies and spending time friends and family. She looks forward to meeting you!
Melissa
CDA II
Melissa is a certified Level II Dental Assistant. She graduated with honors from the Dental Assisting program in February 2023 and has been a part of the Kemptville Smiles Team ever since! Growing up in the Kemptville area, she is excited to be working in the community. When Melissa isnβt working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, friends and family.

Michaela
Registered Dental Hygienist
Michaela is an Algonquin College graduate in dental hygiene who has worked in the community for 10 years. She is in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association.
Michaela is passionate about providing individual focus to every patient, understanding their specific needs, and her work is gentle, time efficient and precise. Michaela is comfortable treating patients of all ages β from infancy to the elderly, and is eager to make sure patients are as informed as possible.
Michaela lives in Merrickville with her husband and their two children. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, swimming and relaxing with her 4 cats. Make sure to tell her about your furry friends during your visit!
Michaela has called Kemptville Smiles Dentistry βhomeβ for 9+ years now, and looks forward to offering her clients exceptional dental care for many years to come!
Kerry
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kerry is a 2003 Algonquin College graduate in Dental Hygiene. She moved to Kemptville at the end of 2015, and has worked in the community for 3 years. She is in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygienist's Association.
Kerry has many years' experience working with anxious patients and is great with kids making their first dental visits fun. Her work is gentle and precise, and she is always making sure her patients are as comfortable as possible.
Kerry and her husband have two young kids. As a family they enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, walking their dog, swimming and are often found at the soccer field and baseball field with their children. Kerry enjoys baking and cake decorating.
Kerry has been at Kemptville Smiles Dentistry for 2 years now and hopes to continue to provide high quality care to our patients.
Seryna
Registered Dental Hygienist
Seryna joined our team at Kemptville smiles in March 2022. Sheβs been in the dental field since 2016, working for a short time as a dental assistant. Not long after, she decided to continue her education and became a registered dental hygienist. Seryna graduated from the dental hygiene program at Algonquin college in 2019.
Seryna grew up in the Ottawa area, but moved out to the area last year. Her favourite thing about being a dental hygienist is making every patient feel happy about their oral health, and ensuring theyβre comfortable and at ease during their cleanings. Shes known for being gentle, calming, and time efficient. Sheβs very passionate about educating patients, and focuses on patients individual needs.
When sheβs not working, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, whether thatβs fishing, four wheeling or just soaking up the sun.
She looks forward to seeing you for your cleaning!
Riley
Registered Dental Hygienist
Riley joined our team in August 2023. She has graduated from the Canadian National Institute of Health and as been a dental hygienist since 2015. Her favorite thing about being a dental hygienist is alleviating patient fears, making people feel comfortable and leaving the chair happy and satisfied with their cleanings!
Riley grew up in the Kemptville area, moved to Manotick with her family and has now recently planted her roots back in the Kemptville community in 2020. When she is not working, Riley likes staying active, going for a nice walk, singing and spending time with her spouse and 2 young children and her family.
Callie
Registered Dental Hygienist
Callie graduated from Algonquin college dental hygiene in 2022. She joined us in the fall of 2023. Callie has been working in dental since she was 16 years old, doing many things within a dental office including dental assisting and dental hygiene. Callie enjoys spending time on the St. Lawrence River in the summer and spending her free time skiing in the winter. Callie has a pug puppy named Luca. She is always excited to share her knowledge and passion for dentistry with her patients.
